My name is Katrinia Adkins Bass and I grew up in these beautiful Appalachian mountains. My childhood was spent on our 72 acre farm so I developed a love for the outdoors early. I love using elements of nature in my jewelry - shells, wood, twigs, flowers. Anything is game!

I started making jewelry a few years ago when a friend asked me to take a beading class with her. My grandmother had taught me to crochet as a child, and I started making jewelry by crocheting beads and wire. Then I added a little fiber, a few shells, a spare key…
I love working with a needle and thread and started
experimenting with netting and fringe techniques.
Native American stitches fascinate and inspire me;
techniques used by the Saraguro Indians and
African natives also challenge me. My favorite fun
thing to do is learn a new technique and see what I
can combine it with to create a work unlike any other. My palette can be subtle but is often bold. My mission statement is that anyone wearing (or looking at) my jewelry must have FUN! So sit back, relax and enjoy!
